Corporate Lawyer Hours
Corporate Lawyer hours
What is like being a corporate lawyer?
I am looking for my college after perspectives and I found a pattern that looks very promising and leads a career at Linklaters. However, virtually everything I've searched on company law has been limited to presenting educational information and things about the salary. What I would like to know is what the work hours are generally similar. I understand you have to work late when a case comes to an end and all that, but what about a normal week of work. With this in mind, could you manage a successful career in law and a happy family life? I do not mind working from home, but I would like know that it is possible to have friends and family outside of work. On the other hand, how much free time, I expect to have? Thanks in advance =).
Benefits as "a life" and "free time" come with seniority. It is a very hierarchical environment and the principle that is pulling in the hours of madness cases you launch partners. While you take care of those, however, you're pretty good and you can get a decent time off on weekends. The main thing is you always have to be willing to leave the personal from what you're doing to take care of work … I have friends who do it and its "09/05" days is typically 8:00 a.m.-11 pm. A couple times a week in the office until 2am. In short, if the personal time very, very important for you to think of a different race … or simply think of the paycheck;)
